About Neo Advisory

Most founders hire a fractional CFO, a separate AI consultant, and an investment bank that never speak to each other — three engagements, three fee structures, and no shared understanding of the business. Neo Advisory is one firm across all three: fractional executive leadership, AI integration and agent development, and M&A advisory. Engage one service, any combination, or all three. We work with founder-led businesses between $3M and $50M in revenue.

Our Philosophy

Insight is only valuable when it leads to results. We focus on execution and implementation, not decks and recommendations, and we measure success by your EBITDA rather than our deliverables.

AI enhances judgment; it does not replace it. The best decisions combine the speed of machines with the experience of operators who have sat where you sit. It is also why we build and run AI systems inside this firm rather than recommending them from a distance — and why we are specific about where they are used and where they are not, which is set out in our research methodology.

We engage from the earliest stages, delivering value through operational optimization and AI integration and, when the time comes, a transaction where the story is already built. Unlike fragmented advisors who do not speak to each other, Neo holds the full picture of the business throughout.

Principal

John-Michael Tamburro

Founder

John-Michael is a finance professional with over 15 years of experience across financial services, specializing in the automotive aftermarket. His career began at Scotiabank in derivatives before he earned an MBA in Investment Banking from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. Since then he has advised founder-led businesses on mergers, acquisitions, and recapitalizations at Car Wash Advisory, FOCUS Investment Banking and Miracle Car Wash Advisors, playing a key role in transactions totaling over $1 billion in transaction value. That figure is his personal career record, earned at those firms, and is not a transaction history of Neo Advisory, which he founded in 2025. His sector focus is the automotive aftermarket — particularly multi-site car wash and collision operators — where he has been a member of the International Carwash Association since 2023. He has passed the FINRA Securities Industry Essentials examination and holds the Series 82 and Series 63 qualifications.

AI Systems

Neo Advisory builds and operates its own AI systems, and runs them in its back office: call reception and scheduling, financial aggregation, bookkeeping and payroll, and marketing production. They are software, not staff. The firm has one principal, every client relationship is led personally by him, and the published research and the advice given to clients are his work rather than a system’s. Where these systems are and are not used is set out in full in our research methodology. Building them in-house is also why we write about the practice from experience rather than at a distance.
